ITS MISSION
The mission of the Royal 22e Régiment Museum is to acquire, preserve, and highlight historical artifacts and documents relating to the history and values of the Royal 22e Régiment, as well as the history of the Citadelle of Quebec, within the context of Canada's military history.
Furthermore, through its outreach and educational initiatives, it makes available to all its visitors the Regiment's military achievements and its history in Quebec, Canada, and abroad, recounts the history of the Citadelle since the French regime, and explains the historical function of its current buildings.

ITS HISTORY
For 75 years, the Royal 22e Régiment Museum has preserved the memory of the Citadelle and the Royal 22e Régiment, the only French-speaking infantry regiment in the Canadian Forces. Founded by its members, it has held the official status of a Canadian Forces Museum since 1974.
The Royal 22e Régiment Museum offers a unique perspective on Canadian military history. Through its exhibitions and collections, it bears witness to the regiment's evolution and its role in the country's defense.
Archives and Collections
The Royal 22e Régiment Museum illustrates over 300 years of history, from the French colonial period to today, highlighting the Francophone military heritage of Quebec and the Royal 22e Régiment. Its collections include over 15,000 artifacts and 340,000 photographs, as well as 90 linear meters of archival documents. The Museum also preserves 5,800 military books and documents, accessible for research. Bearing witness to military life at the Citadelle of Quebec, these historical treasures come from donations by Regiment members, collectors, and the public. The Museum's Objectives
Through its collections, archives, guided tours, educational activities, publications, loans, and provincial and national partnerships, the Museum aims to share the history of the Citadelle and the members of its resident regiment with the people of Quebec City and visitors from all over the world.
