110 Years of History of the Royal 22nd Regiment

In 1914, during the First World War, the 22e Canadian-French Battalion was created in response to popular demand. It allowed French Canadians to serve in their language. Francophones from Canada and the United States joined the 22e Battalion (now the Royal 22e Régiment) and fought in Europe.

The permanent exhibition Je me souviens (I Remember) follows the epic journey of the «22» through the key moments of its 110 years of history and the lives of the soldiers who formed and continue to form this infantry unit.

The Citadelle: Its History and Architecture

A space is dedicated to the history of the Citadelle de Québec, from the time of New France until the arrival of the Royal 22e Régiment on the site in 1920. The military built heritage of the Citadel is also highlighted thanks to the original vaults of the East casemate, a historic building where the Museum is located, and in the interpretation kiosks dealing with the architecture of the Citadel.
