Educational Kit "French-Canadians, Enlist!"
The objective is to familiarize students with the sociocultural and historical context of the Great War, specifically the reality of French Canadians in 1914. This allows for a better understanding of the creation of the Royal 22e Régiment, the first Francophone unit in the country to fight overseas. This is presented in booklet form, allowing students to step into the shoes of a soldier from that era.
This educational kit is part of the Quebec and Canadian history curriculum. It allows students to acquire knowledge about the historical context of the Great War in Quebec and Canada and, through the analysis of primary sources, to develop their intellectual skills related to history. The activities enable students to establish and connect facts using historical methods and to analyze social realities.
